Planning Your Visit: Harvest Update

No U-Pick this season. Apple availability is very limited.

Apple season is a special time at the Orchard, and we know many of you look forward to it year after year. This season will look a little different, so we want to share what you can expect when you visit.

A spring freeze severely damaged this year’s apple crop, and we will not offer U-Pick this season. We may have limited quantities of apples available for purchase at times, but availability will vary and some varieties may not be available at all.

We know that’s disappointing—we’re disappointed, too. Apple season is a tradition for many of our visitors, and we don’t want anyone arriving expecting the usual harvest experience and being caught by surprise.

But there’s still plenty to enjoy at the Orchard.

The apples may be scarce this year, but the Orchard is open, and we’d still love to have you spend the day with us.

Here’s what you can expect when you visit:

  • Take a tractor ride through the Orchard and enjoy the mountain views.
View the tractor ride schedule →
  • Enjoy live music and other special events throughout the season.
See upcoming music & events →
  • Visit the General Store for local goods, Orchard favorites, gifts, and more.
  • Grab a meal at the Apple Core Grill and enjoy it with one of the best views along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
    See the menu →
  • Explore the Orchard and our educational exhibits, learn about the land and its history, and simply enjoy some time in the mountains.

The Orchard is still here—and we’d still love to see you.

Our crew continues to care for more than 2,000 apple trees and the land they grow on as we look ahead to future harvests. In the meantime, there’s still a lot happening here and a lot worth coming to see.

Thank you for understanding, and for continuing to visit and support the Orchard. We hope we’ll see you this season.
