Storytelling Tractor Rides
Climb aboard for a leisurely ride through the Orchard at Altapass, where the scenery comes with stories! Our storytelling tractor rides offer a glimpse into the rich history of the Orchard and the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.
As you travel through the fields, you’ll hear stories of the people, places, and events that shaped this special piece of the mountains—from early settlers and the railroad that helped establish the Orchard, to the generations who have worked to preserve this land and its heritage.
It’s more than a ride through the Orchard—it’s a chance to slow down, take in the mountain views, and experience some of the history and stories that make Altapass special.
Tractor rides are $10 per person. Rides are offered on select Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting. Check our weekly schedule below for upcoming ride times.
Children’s Music Tractor Rides
Bring the kids aboard for a fun-filled ride through the Orchard! Children’s Music Tractor Rides combine the adventure of exploring the Orchard by tractor with music and fun designed especially for our younger visitors.
It’s a chance for children and families to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery, sing along, and experience the Orchard in a way that’s playful, memorable, and just a little bit different.

Ticket Details:
Tractor Ride Tickets are $10 per person and may be purchased, in person, at the General Store on the morning of the ride beginning at 10 AM. Seating is limited and ticket availability is first come, first served. Each tractor ride ticket comes with a FREE scoop of the ice cream of your choice in a cup or cone. Tractor Rides leave promptly so please secure your ticket and be seated on the wagon by the time of departure. No refunds or exchanges. Weather permitting.
