SouthWind is Suzie and Gary Solomon from Bakersville, NC. Suzie has been playing music most of her life; Gary joined her when they were married 18 years ago. Together they play stringed folk instruments—guitar, banjo, fiddle, lap dulcimer, autoharp, mandolin, bass, piano—and occasionally accordion and harmonica. They have a wide repertoire and can play for many different venues. They have performed for schools and senior homes across the nation for years. They also perform for churches, libraries, festivals, and just about anywhere people gather and like to listen to music. SouthWind will warm your hearts and leave you with a smile!
The Orchard Music Program offers live, traditional music in support of our nonprofit mission to preserve the history, heritage and culture of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Our hope is to educate the public about the Appalachian experience so that these important traditions may be carried forward with future generations.
