There is a welcome change at the Orchard this time of year. As the winter months draw to a close, the ice melts, temperatures warm, and the sing-song of birds crescendos. Spring is near.
Among the Orchard staff there is a growing excitement. Our field crews have been hard at work, readying the trees and surrounding land for springtime apple blossoms. Annual pruning activities are one of the largest tasks our field crews take on each year and they have done an amazing job of preparing in anticipation of a fruitful harvest.
Helene brought about an early end to our 2024 season but the storm did not diminish our spirit. Our team has been working tirelessly to make sure we are ready to welcome our Orchard friends back for our 2025 season. There is still work to be done, but progress pivotal for reopening has been accomplished and we are looking forward to opening day more than ever.

Ready for Some Music?

As part of the Orchard’s mission to preserve the history, heritage, and culture of the Blue Ridge, we are always excited to bring the sound of traditional music to our beautiful pavilion overlooking the Blue Ridge. This year, we are thrilled to announce that the Orchard Music Program will have even more new faces as we launch New Music Fridays. These afternoons, beginning Friday, June 13, from 2 PM-4 PM, will feature area musicians that are new to the Orchard stage. So mark your calendars – you won’t want to miss any of these fun-filled afternoons.
BUT, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We are so thankful for the continued support we received for our 2024 Music Program. Our program relies on our sponsors and every afternoon of music was completely covered by folks just like you, that decided to take the next step. Would you like to learn more about how you can become a sponsor? Don’t miss this opportunity to show your support for the Orchard and our mission to “Save The Good Stuff”. Contact Sam today.
